Audi has introduced the plug-in hybrid models of the Q8 coupe-SUV boasting up to 462 horsepower making it another powerful option after the RS Q8. The 2020 Audi Q8 TFSI E Quattro is accessible in two flavors with varying power outputs; the Q8 55 TFSI E Quattro and Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro.
Both the variants are powered by a combustion engine and an electric motor. The engine is a 3.0L turbocharged TFSI V6 producing 340 hp (250 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque, assisted by an electric motor and a 17.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The engineers have updated the battery pack giving it a 0.5 kWh bigger capacity and making it 88 pounds (40 kilograms) lighter than the outgoing model.
The more robust Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro offers 462 hp (340 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque, which enables it to hit the 100 kilometers per hour mark in 5.4 seconds. The Q8 55 TFSI E Quattro generates 381 hp (280 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque with 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.8 seconds.
According to Europe’s WLTP cycle, the Q8 60 TFSI E Quattro should deliver 45 kilometers drive range on a single charge. The less powerful variant offers more – 47 kilometers to be precise.
The 2020 Audi Q8 TFSI E Quattro will first arrive in Europe wearing a starting price tag of around €75,351 or $88,464. The more powerful variant will be costlier.
