Ford introduced the Mustang Mach-E GT for the European markets last week showing us the true strength of the variant, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. We are talking about the dual-motor GT. The entry-level electric crossover does the same in 5.1 seconds.
Ford hinted the mid-3.0-second range for its first all-electric car last year in November and now the press release confirms it. The automaker says the acceleration time tallies with the Model Y’s 0 to 96 km/h time. The GT will be capable to generate 459 horsepower (342 kilowatts) and 612 pound-feet (830 Newton-meters) of torque that will enable it to go all the way to 200 km/h.
Ford also notes that the entry-level Mach-E’s 5.1-seconds time equals to Model Y Long Range. Although the automaker did not disclose the powertrain, we believe they are referring to the 255-hp (190-kW) variant yielding 417 lb-ft (565 Nm) of torque boasting an all-wheel drive.
The company also reveals that the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT will deliver 310 miles (500 kilometers) of range while the base model will come with 335 miles (540 km) of range based on the WLTP test cycle.
The Mach-E will hit the US and European roads at the same time before the end of this year. The UAE launch is not confirmed yet.
