The Nissan’s luxury wing, Infiniti has revealed a prototype of the next-gen Infiniti QX60. Called the Infiniti QX60 Monograph, it might take the production-ready shape sometime in 2021.

Seeing the design of the Infiniti QX60 Monograph, we find it formal and traditional with a sloping front end and big greenhouse. The new crossover also gets bigger fenders and protruding front wheel arches. The rear is elegant and softly contoured with the license plate moving down a bit.

Another highlight in the design is new LEDs – the head- and tail lights sport a fresh “digital piano key” theme, with glowing vertical lines dividing the daytime running lamps.

Regrettably, the company did not show us the interior, so we have to take some inspiration from the ongoing QX50 offering the Infiniti InTouch infotainment system and quilted leather with opposing hues and seam.

No details about the powertrain either. The next-gen QX60 might have the old 3.5 V6 with CVT but this is the last thing we expect from this bold designed crossover SUV. We at least hope Infiniti’s new turbo 2.0L variable compression engine available in QX50 generating 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet. The higher trims should get a turbocharged 3.0L V6 creating 300 hp (224 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm of torque) and the Nissan’s new 3.8L V6 presently powering the Frontier, delivering 310 hp (231 kW) and 281 lb-ft (381 Nm).

With the revelation of the Infiniti QX60 Monograph, the company told us they plan to launch the production version sometime in 2021. And if it retains most of the design cues of the Monograph, we believe it will guarantee the crossover’s healthy sales streak in the U.S.
