The American electric car firm Lucid presented the Lucid Air Dream Edition some time back boasting an astonishing quarter-mile time of 9.9 seconds but it seems that’s not enough for the folks in Newark, California. Lucid recently tweeted that they intend to lower the quarter-mile run time even further.

As you can see in the post, it says: “What’s quicker than quick? Check back on September 24 to see #LucidAir answer that question.” The video confirms Lucid wants to improve upon 9.7 seconds quarter-mile run, which could be amazing, bearing in mind, the Porsche 918 Spyder completes it in 9.8 seconds.
The Lucid Air is one electric car, which aces in many departments. We are talking about:
- The longest range for any electric car (up to 517 miles on a single charge)
- The quickest charging than any other electric car (20 miles of range per minute of charging)
- More interior space than any electric car in its class
- Most luggage space you could find in any vehicle (739 liters)
- The lowest drag coefficient of any vehicle available (0.21)
Coming back to the Lucid Air Dream, it develops 1,080 horsepower (794 kilowatts) using two electric motors. Reportedly, a Performance Edition with three electric motors is on the cards with the two rear motors generating a collective output of 1,300 hp (956 kW).
Seeing these numbers, Lucid can overrun any production car during a drag race. Wait for the official announcement on September 24 to learn more.
