It has just been three years since South Korean automaker Hyundai introduced the Kona crossover and this year they completely transformed it. The 2021 Hyundai Kona is here with new exterior looks, updated interior, new powertrains, and the new N-Line package.

When we say Hyundai completely transformed it, we mean it literally. From a new grille, new headlights, modified DRLs, new intakes, a relocated Hyundai emblem to new taillight design, modified lighting, and a restructured bumper, everything is fresh.

If that’s not enough, customers can opt for the Kona N-Line package for every variant that features wider air intakes, body-painted wheel arches, a noticeable rear diffuser, exclusive 18-inch wheels, a dual-tip exhaust, three “nostrils” above the grille for a sporty look.

The powertrain range starts from 1.6L making 198 horsepower (147 kilowatts) mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch auto. Moreover, the 1.6L diesel mill can be had with 48-volt hybrid tech. The diesel can generate 136-hp (101-kW) and mate to either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel-drive layout. The modest 1.0L can yield 120 hp (89 kW), however, customers can’t have it with the hybrid system.

Inside, the 2021 Hyundai Kona now has a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a new optional 10.25-inch infotainment display.

The 2021 Hyundai Kona will hit the dealerships by the end of this year. The hybrid will arrive at the start of next year.
