After a long teaser campaign for the 2021 Mercedes S-Class, we now have all the pictures of the interior giving us all the details of the luxurious cabin. We already know it has a five-screen setup, ambient lighting facility, and front airbags for the rear occupants, however, we did not know about the heated cushions for the rear headrests in addition to heated armrests on the door cards and other so many other things.
The new S-Class is quieter thanks to the additional use of acoustic foam, and it comes with either an upmarket four-seat or a regular five-seat configuration. The customers can choose from the “business center console” or a folding center armrest. The infotainment display is now bigger, 12.8-inch to be exact with very few hard keys (27 keys lesser than the outgoing model).
The “Hey Mercedes” assistant can understand 27 languages and occupants can also control some functions through hand gestures. There will be two head-up displays, one boasting industry-first augmented reality for a production vehicle’s HUD.
The base S-Class is 2.8 inches longer between the axles compared to the outgoing model, thus now has 122.2 inches of wheelbase. The LWB model adds two more 2 inches between the axels with an overall wheelbase of 126.6 inches. The Maybach model will be even longer.
There is a lot to learn about the new 2021 Mercedes S-Class. We recently wrote a detailed article on the new technologies it is offering. Check it out!
