After the introduction of the Ghibli Hybrid last month, Maserati now has given Trofeo treatment to both the Ghibli and the Quattroporte. Same as the Levante Trofeo crossover, these two sedans will carry a twin-turbo 3.8L V8 mill borrowed from Ferrari generating a mighty 580 horsepower and 730 Newton-meters of torque enough to touch the 326 km/h speed on the odometer. Mind it; it is the highest speed any sedan from Maserati could generate so far. Breaking the performance figures for both sedans, the Ghibli Trofeo is a little quicker compared to the Quattroporte Trofeo due to its lower weight.
It is two-tenths of a second faster to 100 km/h with 4.3 seconds. Contrary to the Levante Trofeo, which is an all-wheel-drive, both of these come equipped with a rear-wheel-drive system that mates to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The visual changes to make the Ghibli Trofeo and the Quattroporte Trofeo different from the lesser siblings include red accents, and updated grille and taillights.
Another addition is a new hood featuring dual air ducts for improved engine cooling. Both the sedans sport 21-inch wheels.
Inside, the most prominent change is the revised 10.1 infotainment system, rather than the older 8.4-inch setup, with better graphics.
Please note the deal for supplying Ferrari engines for the Ghibli and the Quattroporte will end in the next couple of years, so if you really want this Ferrari’s V8 power in the Ghibli, or the Quattroporte, you should grab these performance sedans before the agreement expires.
