Gordon Murray Automotive has introduced the T.50 supercar delivering impressive power and sporting good looks. A rear-mounted fan is there to enhance the downforce, as it gets plenty of resemblance with the McLaren F1.

The Gordon Murray T.50 is an extremely lightweight car weighing just 986 kilograms (2,174 pounds). Do not worry; it still carries a powerful naturally-aspirated 4.0L V12 creating 654 horsepower (488 kilowatts) and 467 Newton-meters of torque.

We can’t resist finding many similarities to the McLaren F1 on the front. The low-slung nose and thin inlets are good to believe that.

To keep the weight low, the engineers used carbon fiber in the construction of the chassis and the body. However, the most surprising thing in the Gordon Murray T.50 is the 15.75-inch rear-mounted fan that rotates at up to 7,000 rpm and feeds from a 48-volt electric motor. It takes help from the active rear spoilers and diffusers to deliver 50% more downforce, which can be boosted to 100% in braking mode.

The brilliance in engineering is evident from the T.50 compact size, which is one inch smaller than the Porsche 718 Cayman. The creation of the engine is also outstanding. It just weighs 392 pounds and displaces 3,994 cubic centimeters, allegedly making it the lightest road-going V12 ever produced by the automaker. The mill mates to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Gordon Murray Automotive will develop only 100 examples of the supercar, each wearing a price tag of at least £2.36 million before taxes. The T.50 will hit the assembly line in January 2022 with deliveries planned by the end of the same year.
