The Japanese automaker Nissan has teased the Ariya Electric Crossover again in a short video, which gives us a good idea of its styling. The video also mentions that the crossover will make its digital world premiere on July 15 to reaffirm the company’s previous announcement.
The Ariya Electric concept was revealed during the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show taking inspiration from the IMx concept, introduced at the same show in 2017.
The teaser video confirms the styling has lots of similarities to the concept but Nissan says it is a pre-production model, so we should expect changes in the final design.
“The highlight of the new Ariya is the fusion of electrification and advanced driver-assist technologies that is expected to develop into self-driving cars in the future,” Makoto Uchida, Nissan CEO, told during a conversation. “We expect the all-new Ariya to play a key role as a brand driver and face of Nissan for the new era.”
Whatever will be the concluding design, the Nissan Ariya Electric Crossover will come with either one or two electric motors offering around 483 kilometers of range along with Nissan’s ProPilot 2.0 autonomous driving tech.
Nissan will build the new EV at its Tochigi plant and roll it out for the Japanese market first followed by the American and European markets soon after. Reportedly, it will wear a $40,000 price tag (approximately) for the US market. The deliveries are expected by the mid of the next year in the US.
We do not know yet if Nissan has plans to introduce the Ariya Electric Crossover for the UAE market.
