The South Korean automaker has introduced the 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line, the performance version of Elantra sedan, which was unveiled in March. Once out, it will compete against the likes of Volkswagen Jetta GLI and Honda Civic Si.

Hyundai did a good job to distinguish this sporty Elantra from the other variants in the lineup. The first prominent change is the Cascading Grille featuring a more assertive appearance and the updated bumper with bigger air intakes. The sporty sedan gets a pair of 18-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone finish. The engineers lowered the ride height by adding a rigid suspension system. At the rear, we can see the dual exhaust system and a delicate trunk lid spoiler.

The automaker did not reveal details of the powerplant; however, we expect it to carry a turbocharged 1.6L gasoline engine available in the Elantra GT N Line generating 201 horsepower and 264 Newton-meters of torque. Hyundai has plans to offer an automatic transmission, but we expect the N Line with manual transmission as well.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line might hit the US roads in the fall of this year. Pricing details will be revealed closer to the launch. For comparison, the Jetta GLI starts at $26,245 while the Civic Si Sedan demands $25,200. The starting price of the Elantra N Line will be closer to these.
