The German automaker Volkswagen has facelifted the 2021 VW Tiguan for the European markets and introduced a lot of new features. One of its best-selling SUVs (around 911,000 units created last year) in the Old Continent, the mid-cycle refresh also adds eHybrid and R models.

Moreover, the standard Tiguan offers sporty R-Line variant, however, if you really want to have fun driving on the road, we suggest you choose the new R model. That said, other variants aren’t bad either.

Regarding design, Volkswagen did the right thing not to deviate much from the already popular styling. The prominent features include the matrix LED headlights, touch climate controls, adaptive cruise control that can now operate at up to 210 km/h, and the Group’s latest MIB3 system with more computational power.

The power department is as alive as ever with VW’s most capable gasoline and diesel mills that are “among the cleanest combustion engines in the world.”

The best beats inside the Tiguan R; the turbocharged 2.0L pumps out 316-horsepower and 310 pound-feet (420 Newton-meters) of torque. It mates to a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission and a new 4Motion system.

The eHybrid will be available in select markets with a 50 km of EV range at a maximum speed of 130 km/h.

The 2021 VW Tiguan will hit European roads this fall. The company did not announce when it will reach in the UAE. The pricing details aren’t revealed either. For reference, the 2020 Tiguan starts at AED 102,000
