The South Korean automaker Kia has introduced the fully revised Kia Sedona – known as Carnival in our market – with a tall structure, boxy styling, and sliding rear doors. The new Sedona is bigger than the outgoing model thanks to the larger wheelbase and changes in the overhang and A-pillars. All the changes infuse SUV characteristics into the Carnival.
The front overhang becomes smaller and A-pillars shift back to extend the hood. The technical data on these changes is not available yet.
The all-new Kia Sedona has a full-width LED light strip at the rear and a big tailgate to allow for easy loading and unloading. The “Limousine” emblem on the bottom right corner of the tailgate reveals the variant that sits at the top-tier of this model’s lineup.
The automaker did not reveal any interior pictures of the Sedona but they did tell their plans to launch it in the 3rd Quarter of this year. Our good guess about the powertrain is a turbocharged 2.5L hybrid setup, similarly to Sorento.
For the US market, the Sedona may launch next year as a 2022 model year. Price is unknown, however, here the 2020MY starts at AED 91,900.
