The Czech automaker Skoda has introduced the updated 2021 Skoda Octavia Scout, the rugged and off-road-focused version of the Octavia estate. The changes include an improved ground clearance compared to its predecessor, 15 millimeters (0.6 inches) higher to make it more capable off-road. For the first time, the Scout will also be available in front-wheel drive. Previously, it only came with an all-wheel-drive layout.
There are multiple powertrain choices for the buyers starting from a 1.5 TSI gasoline good for 150 horsepower and a 2.0 TDI diesel generating 115 hp. Both are assisted by a six-speed manual transmission. The environment-conscious individuals would welcome the 1.5 TSI e-TEC with mild-hybrid tech. Moreover, the power-hungry drivers can opt for a 2.0 TSI creating 190 hp.
New to the 2021 Skoda Octavia Scout is a 2.0 TDI EVO yielding a healthy 200 hp and 400 Newton-meters of torque. The high-end variants come with the standard all-wheel-drive configuration. However, the diesel variant has more towing power allowing it to pull 2,000 kilograms (4,409 pounds).
For more details on the 2021 Skoda Octavia Scout, we have to wait for one more month. In July, we are expecting details of some of its new features and launch date.
