Volkswagen has introduced the 2021 VW Nivus, a coupe-like crossover that will be available from June in Brazil giving buyers another option in the crossover segment. The vehicle will hit European roads next year. We don’t know yet whether it will be available in the Middle East or not.
Built on the MQB-A0 platform, it has the same wheelbase as the Polo and is longer than the T-Cross, allowing it to hold more cargo, 415 liters viruses 373 liters of the T-Cross.
Although the automaker did not reveal prices and equipment details, we got some information from the VW dealers. The 2021 VW Nivus will be available in three variants: 200 TSI, Comfortline, and Highline. The base variant will cost around $14,800, which is $1,600 lower than the $16,400 T-Cross 200 TSI. The other variants will also be more economical than the T-Cross, thus making the Nivus more accessible.
The 2021 VW Nivus will carry a 1.0 turbocharged engine generating 128 horsepower, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The salient features may include adaptive cruise control (ACC), six airbags, air conditioning, stability and traction control, LED rear lights, a rear parking sensor, cruise control, Composition Touch multimedia center, a multifunctional steering wheel, among others. The optional features comprise of a rearview camera, electrically adjustable mirrors, and rain and light sensors.
Opt for the Comfortline and the Nivus comes with more goodies courtesy to the digital air conditioner, reverse camera, LED cabin lighting, tire pressure monitor, digital Info display, steering wheel with paddle shifters for gear changes, drive mode selector, and so on.
Volkswagen will start taking orders from the start of June.
