The Korean automaker has revealed the prices of 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, which will start at $27,750 for the Blue trim level (without destination charge). This price tag makes it costlier than the Honda Accord Hybrid ($25,620) but economical than the Toyota Camry Hybrid ($28,430). Besides Blue, the prices for SEL and Limited variants start from $29,900 and $35,300, respectively.
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata comes with several changes including a mere 0.24 drag coefficient, aero-optimized alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and active air flaps. It also offers the segment-exclusive solar roof, which adds 3.22 km of range daily if it gets six hours of charging. The automaker says over the year, drivers can add up to 1,126 miles of extended range (it will vary according to the location).
Regarding the fuel economy, the entry-level variant of the Sonata delivers 21.26 km/l in the city and 23 km/l on the highway, thus combined 22 km/l. Comparing these with its competitors, the Camry Hybrid returns 21.7/22.5/22 while the Accord Hybrid delivers 20.4/20/20.4. Go for the higher trims and the fuel efficiency will decrease due to their extra equipment and weight.
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid will hit the American roads next month. Hyundai didn’t reveal when they plan to introduce it to the GCC markets. The 2019 model, however, starts from AED 76,000 here.
