The Japanese automaker has unveiled the 2021 Toyota Venza for the US markets, reviving the nameplate after five years. This time it is not a two-row, wagon but is rather a stylish midsize crossover built on the TNGA-K platform featuring hybrid powertrain and Electric On-Demand all-wheel-drive layout.
The powertrain includes a 2.5L inline-four paired with three electric motors to collectively generate 219 horsepower. The 2021 Venza has two electric motors on the rear wheels, similar to Highlander and RAV4 Hybrid, delivering around 40 miles per gallon fuel economy.
If you are familiar with the Harrier, you will find the Venza a lot similar to that. The 2021 Toyota Venza also has some resemblance to the 2021 Mirai from the front. What most striking in the exterior design is, however, the full-width taillight and sloping hatch glass.
The interior features a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen display (12.3-inch screen is typical for the Limited). In addition, it has the 4.2-inch instrument cluster display for LE and 7.0-inch for XLE and Limited. It also offers nine-speaker, 1,200-watt JBL audio system, and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming, or AM/FM/satellite radio for Limited (optional for XLE).
Boasting the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, it comes equipped with forward-collision warning and prevention, pedestrian detection, full-range adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and prevention, automatic high beams, and more. There are some first-class facilities as well, such as available Star Gaze, 10.0-inch color head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and S-Flow climate control technology.
The 2021 Toyota Venza will hit roads this summer alongside the hybrid Sienna, with pricing details revealed closer to the launch.
