Since Tesla commenced the order-taking at its Giga 3 Shanghai factory, a large number of Model 3 orders have been pouring in. Tesla revealed the price of its RWD Long Range Model 3 starts at ¥366,550 (~$52,000), with government subsidies dropping it to ¥339,050 (~$48,000). The slightly-expensive AWD Performance Model stands at ¥419,800 (~$59,500), while its subsidies are yet to be announced.
Although still unofficial, these reports indicate a favorable outcome for the automaker, if true. As automakers all over the globe attempt to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, these massive orders for Model 3 will greatly mitigate the effects of Tesla’s initial production shutdown.
