In the wake of a dramatic fall in crude oil prices in the market, the Ministry of Energy and Industry has reduced the UAE fuel prices for April 2020 by more than 10%. The prices were dropped by 4% for March after remaining flat for two straight months.

The new UAE fuel prices are:
- Super 98:91 – A decline of 25 fils
- Special 95:80 – A decline of 24 fils
- Diesel:06 – A decline of 19 fils
Global oil prices have been reducing significantly since the start of this year. Brent has almost lost 60% of its value since January and the prices are continuously dropping owing to the travel restrictions in most parts of the world.
It is still unclear when the government will uplift the travel ban in the UAE, so for those who can’t drive due to the shutdown, this price relief does not mean anything. But people who have to drive to work, the new prices do come as a breath of fresh air.
