Honda has updated its famous Insight Hybrid for the 2021 model year with more standard safety features (for top variants) and a new exterior color. However, the overall design is the same as the ongoing model. The 2021 Honda Insight Hybrid is now available at showrooms in America.
Honda is still offering the 2021 Insight in three variants namely LX, EX, and Touring. The LX, which costs the same $23,885 (including the $995 destination charge) as the ongoing model is pretty much unchanged. The changes can be seen in the EX and Touring models that now come with standard blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert systems.
The hybrid is already a very safe car to drive, which is evident from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick+ rating for 2020.
The standard features include LED headlights, Honda Sensing Safety Suite, and push-button start. The Touring is different from the rest in terms of options like leather seating surfaces, an 8-way power driver’s seat, navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, and so on.
The 2021 Honda Insight carries the same old 1.5L petrol engine that is assisted by an electric motor to generate 151 horsepower and 267 Newton-meters of torque. The hybrid delivers up to 55 miles per gallon in the city.
With the changes in safety tech come the price bump. The EX costs $25,765, while the Touring starts from $29,795. Both these variants are $500 more expensive than the 2020 Insight.
