Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. did a tremendous job last year by beating all previous records of sales, turnover, and profitability. While the company shared this great news through a press release, they were also sad on the Coronavirus situation the world is facing right now.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “In the Fiscal Year 2019 Lamborghini continued its sustained history of growth, setting new historic highs in all key business figures. While celebrating these figures we must underline the extraordinariness of the situation in which we find ourselves right now, from both a human and corporate perspective, due to the worldwide spread of Coronavirus.
Our 2019 results reflect the talent and dedication of all company staff around the world and we thank them and our shareholders for their trust and continuing support. We are sure of the strength, the energy, the enthusiasm, the passion and the deliberateness that characterize the women and men in Lamborghini, including during these difficult times. Building on our results so far, we continue to prepare for further sustainable growth and new opportunities in innovation and technology in order to reach new future milestones.”
Talking about the specific achievements of the automaker, its turnover increased by 28% from 1,42 billion Euros to 1,81 billion euros in 2019. The worldwide sales numbers are even better with 43% increase. The company delivered 8,205 vehicles to customers in America, EMEA, and the Asia Pacific. The Lamborghini Urus is enjoying healthy sales with 4,962 units sold last year. The other two best-sellers are the V12 Aventador (1,104 units) and the V10 Huracán (2,139 units).
The company has also been awarded the Top Employer Italia certification for the seventh successive year and had 1,787 employees at the end of last year.
This year, Lamborghini plans to introduce the new V10 Huracán EVO variants along with the Lamborghini Sián, which is a limited edition hybrid super sports car. The automaker has some other surprises for the fans as well, but the Coronavirus has put all the plans in the backburner for now.
