The Elantra (aka Avante in South Korea) is Hyundai’s best-selling sedan since its introduction in 1990. The automaker so far sold over 13.8 million units of this compact sedan and is looking to advance its sales even further with the new design theme. The seventh-generation 2021 Hyundai Elantra boasting “Parametric Dynamics” design theme, will debut online today at The Lot Studios in West Hollywood, California. People in North America can see the Livestream at 7 PM EST today, while European viewers can watch it at 2 AM GMT, March 18.
We already showed you the teaser images of the new Elantra last week and shared some of the details as well. Hyundai calls it a “four-door-coupe”, which reveals exactly what the automaker is planning to achieve with this new design. They have made it longer and wider and lowered the roofline to make it look sporty.
The all-new 2021 Hyundai Elantra reportedly will also spawn a performance N version featuring a turbocharged 2.0L engine pumping out 275 horsepower. The same mill will also be available in the i30 N and the Veloster N hatchbacks. That may give buyers a choice between a six-speed manual and a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission. That said we believe the automaker won’t provide any information on the Elantra N today.
Hyundai not only made huge changes on the outside, but they have also reworked the interior. In the teaser image, we can see a minimalist design with very few buttons and knobs. The infotainment screen takes place right beside the digital instrument cluster.
If you want to know which powertrains Hyundai will introduce for the 2021 Elantra, just wait for a few more hours (3:00 am in UAE) and watch for yourself.
