The Bavarian automaker has released a teaser image and a video of its first pure-electric 4-Series Gran Coupe, which will debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Named BMW Concept i4, it will not be a mere concept model. The good news is it will go into production and we already know some details about the production-ready i4.

The automaker plans to launch it next year and reportedly it will be able to generate a mighty 523 horsepower. BMW says this all-electric four-door coupe will not only be as powerful as a regular V8-powered car but will also deliver the same mileage as you would expect from a V8 vehicle.

The BMW i4 would feature an 80 kWh battery pack that will enable it to complete 600 kilometers of distance on a single charge. This looks like an optimistic figure and we hope this estimation is made on WLTP cycle and not the old NEDC.

Talking about the performance figures and the battery power, we heard the i4 could speed up to 100 mark in 4.0 seconds approximately, on its way to a top speed of 200 km/h. The battery charging on a 150 kW charger will juice up 80% in around 35 minutes. In other words, the car can accumulate 100 kilometers of drive range every six minutes.

Before the launch of the BMW i4, we are expecting the iX3, which is a zero-emission version of the X3 crossover. For more details of the BMW Concept i4, stayed tuned!
