Dubai Police’s 100% traffic fine rebate is back in 2020 owing to the success of last year’s initiative. The terms and conditions of this program are the same as the previous scheme, which ended on February 6, 2020. It means drivers who won’t commit a mistake for three months will get a 25% discount. Those who remain obedient on the road for six months will get a 50% discount. This continues to 100% traffic fine rebate for motorists who do not commit any violation for a year.
Around 557,430 motorists benefited from the last year’s campaign. Authorities told media that they discounted a total of Dh546,970,930. It means, on average, a motorist saved Dh981.24.
Besides, this initiative also made the roads safer than before. Statistics show the traffic death rate went down by 16%. We have also witnessed a 38% reduction in cases related to severe injuries.
The Dubai Police’s data also shows that women drivers behaved better than men on the road. Around 444,661 women received discounts compared to 114,769 males.
Amira Esmail is a good example for all the women drivers out there. She availed a 100% traffic fine rebate this year.
