Dubai Police took the lead to employ the latest 5G mobile broadband service for their patrols. The force has joined hands with Etisalat to equip its police patrol cars and Command Center with the necessary technologies that will improve their response time, data transfers as well as help in performing other tasks. This is formally the first 5G-enabled police patrol in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Announcing this high-tech service, Brigadier Khaled Nasser Al-Razooqi said, they actively seek all the opportunities that could furnish their force with the latest tech to improve the security and safety of the people in the Emirate.

“Implementing 5G-enabled police patrol is one of the many steps taken by the Dubai Police to achieve this goal.”

“The 5G-enabled patrol aims at reducing response times, faster data transfers in the security sector, connecting patrol cameras with the highest resolution to the Command and Control room, as well as facial recognition technology,” stated Abdulla Ibrahim Al Ahmed, Senior Vice President for Government Institution Sales at Etisalat.
