The Chevy’s best-selling SUV, Equinox gets new styling for the 2021MY. While fans might not find many changes, what excites us most is the new RS trim level. If you have seen photos of the CN-spec Equinox recently, you will find this 2021 Chevy Equinox for North America pretty much the same.
The new styling fiddled with the headlights and separated them into two. Similarly, the grille now stretches to the sides and divides the headlights to give the new Equinox an imposing appearance. We also see new styling for the taillights and that’s it!
The compact crossover fans would appreciate the RS model featuring a sleek black front grille accompanied by other dark accents. The black elements are in abundance, so you will find bowties, badges, and roof rails, all in black. Similarly, the 19-inch alloy wheels and quad exhaust tips also sport black accents. Get inside, and you again find black dominates the whole interior.
The Premium trim of the 2021 Chevy Equinox has its own uniqueness and comes equipped with a glossy black grille with chrome inserts, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a logo projection liftgate. Moreover, there is a range of safety and driver assistance features that make this ride ultra-safe for the occupants. These include low speed forward automatic braking, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, rear parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change and side blind zone alert, and so on.
In the power department, we have two turbocharged options i.e. a 1.5-L and a 2.0L. Both have their own drivetrains; the 1.5L mill routes power to the wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission while the 2.0L engine uses a nine-speed automatic. Customers can opt for either front-wheel or all-wheel-drive configuration.
The automaker says the 2021 Chevy Equinox will hit dealerships before the end of this year. We do not know anything about the pricing yet, however, we can tell you the price of the 2020 Equinox. It starts at AED 86,500 here.
