The 2021 Cadillac Escalade has made its public debut in Los Angeles featuring a fresh appearance, interior, and lots of tech components. Focusing first on the luxury aspect of this full-size SUV, we find a huge 38 inches of diagonal digital display on the dashboard. These actually are three screens, which start from the left and finish in front of the passenger.
A 7.2-inch touch screen on the left of the steering wheel provides details to the driver. Besides, there is a big 14.2-inch display behind the steering wheel, which of course is your instrument cluster and serves other important details as well. On the right, you can see a huge 16.9-inch infotainment screen using OLED technology featuring double the pixel density of a 4K television.
That’s not all, there is more tech than what we can imagine. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade has plenty of cameras – at the back, sides, and front – that give real-time images of the roads and surround vision birds-eye view. The rear-seat passengers also get their own entertainment displays.
In addition, the new Escalade welcomes Cadillac’s Super Cruise for a hand-free driving using LiDAR data, GPS, cameras, and radar systems. Buyers can also opt for a 36-speaker sound system Cadillac offers in collaboration with AKG.
The new Escalade offers the same room inside as available in the Suburban and Yukon. Expect 40% more third-row legroom and 68% more cargo space. With the extended ESV model, the owners would get even more cargo space and legroom.
Talking about the exterior, it has a large grille, thin headlights, thin vertical taillights, and 22-inch wheels. The power comes from the GM’s 6.2L V8 yielding 420 horsepower. There is also a new 3.0L I6 turbodiesel engine offering 277 hp and the same torque available for V8. Both engines mate to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options are available.
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade will hit the roads this summer with pricing details announced closer to the launch. For reference, the 2020 Escalade starts at AED 371,000 (inclusive VAT).
