So, the rumors regarding Lincoln EV based on Rivian’s skateboard platform were true. Both companies recently announced their partnership to build Lincoln’s first EV, which will allegedly be a compact crossover.

“Working with Rivian marks a pivotal point for Lincoln as we move toward a future that includes fully electric vehicles,” President of The Lincoln Motor Company Joy Falotico stated during the event. “This vehicle will take Quiet Flight to a new place – zero emissions, effortless performance and connected and intuitive technology. It’s going to be stunning.”

Details are short at the moment but knowing the technology Rivian is using for its own vehicles, we expect a stunning Lincoln vehicle. The Rivian models are designed to offer at least 660 kilometers of range using a 180-kilowatt-hour battery.

Regarding its arrival, we heard it would hit the road in the middle of 2022. We also came to know that this partnership would extend to produce another electric crossover, bigger in size, later down the road.

“Our vehicle development partnership with Ford is an exciting opportunity to pair our technology with Lincoln’s vision for innovation and refinement. We are proud to collaborate on Lincoln’s first fully electric vehicle,” Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe stated.

Lincoln has already taken a step toward electrification by electrifying the Aviator and Corsair.
