The German automaker Mercedes-Benz unveiled Vision AVTR Concept at the 2020 CES, inspired by the hit movie, Avatar. Like in the movie, the concept makes a connection between humans, machines, and nature. The Vision Advanced Vehicle Transformation (AVTR) concept works like a “living organism”; you put your hand on the central controller and it studies your pulse rate. It can also transport you to the virtual world of your choice.
There are plenty of lighting elements, which are inspired by Na’vi homes in Avatar. The automaker has used new recycled materials like “Dinamca” faux leather and “Karoon,” to create the seats, dash and other elements inside.
On the outside, we see the Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR has pulsing lights, wheels with wood sprites, and 33 multi-functional flaps in the rear.
The automaker is imagining a battery created of recyclable material. The one used here is a graphene-based organic cell pack with a capacity of 110 kilowatt-hours. The modern concept can generate 470 horsepower and goes on to complete 700 kilometers on a single charge.
It’s hard to tell what technologies Mercedes think could be passed on to future cars. Who cares? We love the design of this stunning, out-of-this-world sports car.
