Abu Dhabi Police have tweeted a CCTV footage showing irresponsible drivers not respecting the pedestrians at the zebra crossing. The video shows the negligence or unawareness of the drivers who were going to run over the walkers using the designated crossing.
With this message, the Police warn motorists and remind them of the consequences of breaking the law. The culprits will get Dh500 fine and six black points.

While drivers need to be careful on the road, it is also the duty of pedestrians to not frantically run across the road. They must use the underpasses and pedestrian bridges, wherever available, and use a zebra crossing with a traffic signal only. The fine for jaywalkers is Dh400.
