The 2020 Jaguar I-Pace has recently received a software update, which bumps the driving range by 19 kilometers. The automaker says they have made changes in battery management, thermal systems, and enhanced the all-wheel drive torque. Moreover, the regenerative braking now generates extra power at a slow pace. The company has used its experience in I-Pace eTrophy to make the electric car more efficient.

“The Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy has generated a huge amount of data for us to analyze and those marginal gains, derived from the competition on the track, are now being applied to customers’ cars to further enhance their driving experience,” said Stephen Boulter, I-Pace Vehicle Engineering Manager, while announcing this software upgrade.

The 2020 Jaguar I-Pace comes with an EPA-estimated range of 377 kilometers, which would essentially remain the same. However, ‘depending on the drive’, the driver will get an 8% boost in range. The software update will also enable the EV to get over-the-air updates.

The automaker is also planning to bring a high-performance variant of the I-Pace, so we can expect a model with a lot higher drive range and more speed. However, performance car lovers must not be very excited, as the new model can take years to materialize due to the current busyness of the SVO division.

The all-electric car is available in the UAE.
