Meet the Tesla Cybertruck, a futuristic, powerful, and strong pickup truck reminding us of the sci-fi vehicles from Hollywood movies. This is not a concept vehicle; it is real and is something you would not have ever seen on the road. Not only looks-wise, but its body is also very different. It is made of steel alloy, which is reportedly dent-resistant, scratch-resistant, and as we saw in the unveiling video, sledgehammer proof as well.
Musk says that it is bulletproof to 9mm shells, and the glass is solid as well. Don’t throw a sledgehammer on to that though; it can shatter.
Talking about the powertrain, Musk gave us all the key states. The range-topping variant of the Tesla cybertruck would be able to hit 96 km/h in 2.9 seconds only and complete the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds. The base model would be able to deliver 402 km of range, while the top trims will be able to go beyond 805 km on a single charge.
Honestly, it is a crazy creation from Tesla, but the question is, does it perform like a real pickup truck? The answer is, ‘Yes’. It has a 6.5-foot pickup bed, a 3,500-pound cargo capacity, and a 14,000 pounds tow capacity, which all look impressive. Additionally, it offers a choice of three drivetrains, i.e., a single-motor / rear-wheel-drive, a dual-motor / all-wheel-drive, and a tri-motor / all-wheel-drive.
So, we are all done with the essential stats, what about the price. Well, the standard Tesla Cybertruck starts at $39,900 for a single-motor RWD with 402 km of range. This truck can hit 96 km/ in 6.5 seconds. On the other hand, the tri-motor Cybertruck goes for a soaring $69,900.
Order books are opened, and the standard model is likely to hit roads in the last quarter of 2021.
