After introducing the range-topping Taycan Turbo and Turbo S, the German automaker has unveiled 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S, which will sell for a lot less than its big brothers. Starting at $105,150 (including destination) with standard battery, its price can reach $111,730 with Performance Battery Plus. The Turbo and Turbo S are priced at $152,250 and $186,350, respectively.
The standard Performance Battery of 79.2 kilowatt-hours works to power a dual-motor system and creates 522 horsepower. Those who need extra oomph should select the 93.4-kWh Performance Battery Plus, generating 563 hp. No matter which battery you choose, the acceleration time to 97 km/h is 3.8 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Talking about the visual tweaks for the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S, you may not find any dissimilarity while comparing it with Turbo models. It has the same coefficient of drag; however, there are a few minor differences such as smaller wheels, and the color of side skirts do not match with the body paint.
For an EV, the buyers always want to know about its charging capacity and charging time. On a high-speed DC charger, the standard and high-performance batteries gain a maximum charging capacity of 225 kilowatts and 270 kilowatts, respectively. The automaker is also giving a free 30-minute charging facility at Electrify America locations. In addition, the charging is free at Porsche dealerships.
We are also expecting a more affordable Taycan after the introduction of the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S in Spring next year. We believe that will be priced near to the $90,000 mark.
