Lexus teased a short video before the official unveiling of an Electric Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show, which we believe will take the production form next year. The details about the concept are scarce, but we do know that it will be a zero-emission electric car with self-driving tech.

Rumors say it will be a small hatchback similar to 2015’s LF-SA minicar concept, which Lexus never confirmed for production.

Toyota has increased its EV pace and is creating new technologies, platforms, and batteries that will be used across all its sub-brands, including Lexus. Furthermore, we have heard about Lexus’ plans to introduce in-wheel electric motors, which may take time to mature.

Reportedly, the Lexus EV will have a new infotainment system with dual screens. It may ride on the new e-TNGA platform created by Toyota, which will underpin both front- and rear-wheel models. That’s not all! All-wheel-drive models with dual motors are also on the card.

Stay tuned! We will give you more details on the new Lexus EV Concept soon.
