We aren’t hearing much from Mitsubishi these days but things are going to take a turn this month, as the automaker is planning to introduce MI-TECH Concept vehicle at the Tokyo Motor Show, which is a small open-top hybrid SUV. The hybrids are name of the game for Mitsubishi. The automaker also unveiled a plug-in hybrid SUV concept in March, named Engelberg Tourer.

The details are scarce at the moment, but we do know that MI-TECH Concept will feature an extended-range electric setup, which works similarly to plug-in hybrid setup.

The Mitsubishi MI-TECH Concept will use a gas turbine to create electricity as well as four electric motors (two at each axle) to deliver an all-electric drive.

Inside, Mitsubishi is introducing an augmented reality windshield to render important information for the passengers. Moreover, the SUV will boast a range of electronic driver assist facilities, called MI-PILOT. It will consist of collision warning, automatic emergency braking, etc.

Another vehicle Mitsubishi will display at the show is the Super Height K-Wagon concept, which is a roomy tall wagon. For more details on these concepts, we have to wait until October 23.
