Audi is working to update its A4 range, which also includes the enhanced high-performance RS 4 Avant. The small, sporty wagon is getting minor tweaks; however, there won’t be any change in the power department. The 2020 Audi RS 4 Avant will be carrying the same 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 churning out 450 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque as available in the ongoing model.
The power goes to all the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Audi says the vehicle can hit 100 km/h in around 4.0 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250 km/h. Those who want to catch a higher speed can take it all the way to 280 km/h.
Talking about the evident changes outside, we can see a new shape of the headlights as well as a broader and lower grille with three-dimensional honeycomb. Not much is changed at the rear. The most significant change is the updated rear diffuser.
The AWD offers 40:60 split front to rear, which means the rear wheels get more power. The power is controlled through a mechanical center differential, which can be replaced with Sport differential to get more power at the wheels.
Being a high-performance vehicle, it gets a sporty treatment; it boasts sport-tuned suspension with adjustable dampers, speed-sensitive steering, 19-inch wheels with 265/35-size tires, and 6-piston brake calipers with 14.8-inch rotors at the front and 13-inch rotors at the rear.
Inside, it features a big 10.1-inch touchscreen display, which users can operate through buttons or voice. We can find the RS logo at multiple places inside, which differentiates it from the regular variants.
The 2020 Audi RS 4 Avant will hit the roads before the end of this year. Not sure about the RS 4, but we are expecting the RS 6 Avant in the Middle East next year.
