The luxury automaker Bentley has finally joined the electrified vehicles bandwagon by introducing the 2020 Bentayga Hybrid. The world’s first ultra-luxury plug-in hybrid wears an expensive price tag of $160,000.
Under the hood, it carries a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine assisted by an electric motor. Although the automaker did not reveal the exact power figures, we came to know that the combined torque output will be a little above 515 pound-feet. Moreover, the electric motor will be able to generate 125 horsepower.
Talking about the fuel economy, the automaker gave its EV mode range only. It will deliver around 24 miles on the WLTP cycle, which translates to about 22 miles on the EPA, which isn’t bad for a big vehicle like Bentayga.
While this is the first time Bentley ventured into the electrified vehicle’s realm, the automaker made sure the driver gets a “serene and unrestricted” driving experience. Bentley offers buyers many upgrading choices to make the vehicle absolute best in its class.
When it hit the roads before the end of this year, it will be Bentley’s most fuel-efficient vehicle. However, the automaker won’t take long to reveal more hybrid vehicles as they plan to introduce an electrified variant for each of its models by 2023. The company also declared that they want to unveil their first all-electric vehicle by 2025.
We hope to see the 2020 Bentayga Hybrid by the end of this year or at the start of next year in the UAE.
