When Rivian introduced the R1S, we knew it would be a successful SUV owing to its advanced features and extraordinary drive range. However, the automaker did not stop to what the world was expecting from the electric SUV. The company told us in a tweet that the Rivian R1S will offer buyers three more roof options other than the panoramic glass roof we had seen earlier.
Hi Steven! We will offer multiple roof styles including electrochromic glass (which turns from opaque to transparent on demand), a fixed glass panel, a two-piece removable composite roof and a standard fixed roof.

The other three options include an electrochromic glass roof that buyers can customize for transparency, a two-piece detachable composite roof, and a typical fixed roof.
The Rivian R1S is currently under production and will hit roads in the start of 2021. The electric SUV will be accessible in 105-, 135-, and 180-kWh battery sizes. Of course, the heavier the battery, the more will be the power and the driving range. In the highest configuration, the utility vehicle will be able to generate 750 horsepower and 820 pound-feet of torque. This enormous power would be enough to jump to 96.6 km/h in 3.0 seconds only and deliver 660 km drive range. The standard R1S model won’t be bad either with 386 km of range on a single charge.
The Rivian R1S will cost you $72,500 for the standard model. For fancy roof options, you certainly have to dish out more bucks.
