The Japanese automaker has revealed the pricing details for the Toyota 86 Hakone Edition, which sits near the top of the range. Toyota declared in April that they would create a special edition of 86 with some visual tweaks. The interested buyers need to dish out $29,630 (excluding $1,195 destination charges). Opting the automatic transmission will cost another $720, taking the price to $30,350.

Reportedly, the Toyota 86 Hakone Edition will carry a 2.0-liter engine creating 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque with the standard manual transmission. The 6-speed automatic is optional and helps the engine churn out a little less power – 200 hp and 151 lb-ft to be exact. The power goes to the rear wheels only.

Comparing it to other models in the 86 series, the Hakone Edition is $3,000 costlier than the standard model and around $1,000 more expensive than the 86 GT. The top of the line 86 TRD Special Edition model is the most expensive variant in the lineup with a starting price of $32,470.

So, how the Hakone Edition differs from the rest of the lot? On the outside, it has 17-inch bronze wheels, a unique Hakone Green shade, and an intelligent black lip spoiler. Peeking inside, we see black-and-tan Alcantara seats with contrast stitching. In fact, we see contrast stitching on most of the parts, including the steering wheel, dash, and emergency brake lever.

We do not know yet when Toyota plans to introduce Hakone Edition in the UAE. Stay tuned for updates!
