After dropping a teaser image a few days back, the Italian automaker yesterday pulled the cover off the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC. The stylish hyper-roadster with a robust power unit isn’t your everyday roadster. It carries a hefty $3.5 million price tag, and the automaker plans to create only 40 units, which would make it a rare car to spot around the world.

Matching the whopping price tag is a powerful 6.0L AMG V12 engine, which delivers a mighty 800 horsepower and 774 pound-feet of torque. Comparing it to its coupe sibling, it creates an extra 50 hp and 36 lb-ft of torque. The Huayra BC generates 750 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. The power goes to the rear wheels through a seven-speed sequential transmission featuring a lightweight single clutch, which is 35% lighter compared to the typical dual-clutch. Besides this, Pagani made several improvements over the Huayra BC to make the roadster lighter at 2,685 pounds (1,217 kilograms).

The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC isn’t just fast in a straight run; it can create a maximum of up to 1.9Gs of lateral force, which is better than the Chiron. The better road grip is partially due to the Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires created mainly for the automaker. Pagani didn’t reveal the 0 to 96 km/h acceleration figure. However, we believe it will be better than the Huayra BC (0-96 in 2.5 seconds) because of its lower weight.

Pagani has opened the order books, and interested buyers need to act fast because they aren’t creating many of these hyper-roadsters.
