We already knew that the Italian automaker is working on Pagani Huayra BC Roadster, which is an open-top version of the road-going Huayra BC. The automaker started testing it last year, and now it looks the car is in its completion phase. The company showed us a teaser image on their Facebook page where we find the vehicle wrapped in sheets.

The teaser does not reveal anything except the headlights. However, we can see its outline, which looks just like another Huayra. The automaker defines the car as “A tremendous science and design challenge,” and rightly so. The convertible is actually lighter than its coupe sibling, which shows us the hard work company had to put into achieving this feat.
The engineers did a lot of work to shed its weight and make it track-focused. Of course, they had to improve the aerodynamics and use materials that are lighter than the ones used in Huayra BC. The automaker says they have used carbon triax, which is 50% lighter and 20% sturdier than the carbon fiber.
The engineers managed to keep the weight of the Roadster at 2,645 pounds (1,199 kilograms) in comparison to 2,820 pounds (1,280 kilograms) of the Huayra BC.
