Lotus has good news for its sports car fans! The British automaker is replacing the Evora 400 and limited-run Evora 410 with the 2020 Lotus Evora GT, which is not only lighter than the Evora 400 but also runs faster. The sports car carries a supercharged 3.5L V6 churning out 416 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque (6 hp extra than the Evora 410). We get two transmission options: manual and automatic, with the latter receiving more torque – 332 lb-ft to be exact. Lotus says the 2020 Lotus Evora GT will be able to hit 96.5 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Lotus has made the GT about 71 pounds lighter than the Evora 400 by offering an optional Carbon Pack. It includes a carbon-fiber front access panel, roof panel, and one-piece louvered tailgate with a joined spoiler and diffuser.
Furthermore, opting for the titanium exhaust sheds another 22 pounds and makes it weigh 3,104 pounds. Another thing that reduces weight is the new aluminum wheels. Unfortunately, the pursuit of going lighter comes with an extra expense.
Lotus has also made several changes to increase the downforce. They have added the latest front lip, front-wheel arch louvers, carbon-fiber ducts behind the rear wheels, an updated rear diffuser, and curved lower front fenders.
To allow drivers to have fun on their journeys, the GT gives them a choice of 4 different drive mode for various conditions. These include Drive, Sport, Race, and Off.
Inside the GT, we see Alcantara trim with different stitching. The steering wheel is wrapped with leather and Alcantara. The 7-inch infotainment screen allows Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The 2020 Lotus Evora GT starts from $96,950 (excluding destination charges). The Carbon Pack sets buyers back another $10,000 while the titanium exhaust costs $8,000 extra. Interested customers can order now.
