Saleen, an American automaker of high-performance cars, recently launched its operations in China. At the brand’s launch, we saw the Saleen’s founder Steve Saleen, British actor Jason Statham, and a few Chinese celebrities. The automaker exhibited its ongoing S1 sports car as well as an upcoming electric car and an SUV. The biggest attraction of the launch, however, was the return of Saleen S7 with 1,500 horsepower.

The Saleen S7 was first introduced in 2000 boasting 550 hp. Five years later, the same car got an engine upgrade and was able to create 750 hp. Two years back, the automaker developed the S7 Le Mans model with 1,300 horsepower. That was a limited edition car (7 units).

Talking about the upcoming Saleen S7 Le Mans, it will be the most potent S7 created todate. Reportedly, the 1,500 horsepower engine would be able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 2.2 seconds and max out at 480 km/h (298 mph). The new S7 will also be a limited edition car. How many Saleen will produce is still a mystery.
