To cater to the needs of transportation companies that perform day to day terminal operations, Continental has introduced new Radial Tires and Holistic product range for Load & Carry and Pick & Stack operations respectively. The unveiling which was done at the 2019 TOC Europe in Rotterdam, showcased three new radial port tires for port operations the ContiRT20, the ContainerMaster Radial, and the StraddleMaster Radial, as well as, Continental’s V.ply tires with Port Plus Compound.
Both these product portfolios are explicitly designed to make port operations easier for transportation companies. The radial tires are best for Load & Carry applications in the hard Middle Eastern (ME) environment. Made explicitly for heavy forklift trucks, empty container handlers, reach stackers, straddle carriers and terminal tractors, these tires produce low heat and have a flat tread contour for optimum endurance and better mileage.
The Holistic product range is perfect for day to day Pick and Stack applications allowing reach stackers, empty container handlers, rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTG) and other similar vehicles to meet different load requirements in the ME’s climate. The V.ply tires are made with an extremely abrasive and crack-resistant compound that enables vehicles to cover short distances at low speed during loading and unloading applications.
During the trade fair, Continental also introduced its digital tire pressure monitoring systems and ContiConnect for fleets.
