Nissan has taken a bold step by assigning Joni Paiva the role of Regional Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Africa, Middle East, and India. The automaker has also appointed Thierry Sabbagh as Managing Director of Nissan-Middle East.
Peyman Kargar, Senior Vice President of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Chairman of the Management Committee for Africa, Middle East, and India, stated, “Nissan aims to double its presence in Africa, the Middle East, and India throughout our midterm plan to 2022. We are pleased to welcome Joni from Nissan-Canada to the region to lead our regional AMI business and congratulate Thierry on his new role within the organization to lead our Middle East operations. They both bring a vast knowledge of the automotive industry with an excellent track record of success. We are confident that their strategic expertise and skills will add immense value to our drive for growth in the region.”
The automaker believes in Paiva’s abilities, thanks to his 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. Before taking this role, he was working at Nissan Canada as President. He was looking after Sales and Marketing, Finance, Dealer Network, Product and Corporate Planning, Aftersales, and the Captive Sales finance firm. Paiva will now work under the supervision of Peyman Kargar, AMI SVP & Chairman. He is replacing Sivagnanam Kalyana (Shivi), who will now serve as the Managing Director of Nissan-Motor Great Britain.
Talking about the Managing Director of Nissan-Middle East, Sabbagh has got a vast experience of the ME markets. He was previously serving as Sales Director at Nissan-Middle East. Before that, he worked for Ford, Mercedes Benz, and Cadillac. Sabbagh is replacing Juergen Schmitz who left Nissan after serving the company for 11 years.
Both Paiva and Sabbagh will join the team at the Nissan-Middle East office in Dubai, UAE.
Nissan offers a massive line-up of vehicles in the Middle East. These appointments will help the automaker to boost their sales further.
