Groupe PSA, the owner of Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel marques, took a positive step toward hiring Rakesh Nair as the Managing Director for the GCC region. He will work under the supervision of Samir Cherfan, Senior Vice President for Sales, Marketing and After Sales in Africa and the Middle East.
Nair has been serving the automotive industry from the last 14 years with talent in tactical planning, marketing, sales, and operations. What inspired Groupe PSA the most toward this hiring decision was Nair’s know-how of the GCC’s automotive industry. His job would be to execute the ‘Push to Pass’ strategy in the GCC.
Talking about Nair’s recruitment in Groupe PSA, Cherfan stated: “I am pleased to welcome Rakesh to the Groupe PSA family. I am confident he will help the company achieve robust and healthy business foundations for the four Brands in the GCC.”
Nair expressed his joy and responsibility by saying: “I am proud to join Groupe PSA at such an exciting time for the company as it makes its comeback in the Middle East. The market is full of untapped opportunities to a car maker with such a cutting-edge technology and efficiency like Groupe PSA”.
Prior to this job, Rakesh Nair was General Manager in Nissan group for Africa, Middle East and India. During his last job, he undertook various roles in different departments including operations, product planning, sales, marketing and policy building.
