Consumer Reports (CR) recently tested the 2019 Audi E-Tron Quattro SUV and pointed out its positives and negatives. Their first impressions about its luxury, powertrain, cabin, and ride are satisfactory. However, they need a lot more time to test it fully and give their final verdict.
For the test drives, Consumer Reports picked the 2019 Audi E-Tron Quattro with driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control, active lane assist, and traffic sign recognition and cold weather package including heated rear seats and battery preconditioning.
Audi is well-known for its interiors and E-Tron doesn’t deviate from the automaker’s classic cabin facilities. CR was happy about everything inside but they felt the infotainment system wasn’t easy to understand first-up.
CR loved E-Tron’s smooth and comfortable driving. However, what they enjoyed the most was its quiet cabin. Surely, all EVs are quiet as they do not have an engine but E-Tron takes pride in being sound-proof by not letting the road noise come inside.
Talking about E-Tron’s negatives, CR didn’t like the gear selector functionality and the charging port cover, which isn’t easy to operate. Other drawbacks include the poor visibility behind and lack of torque the vehicle generates in the start.
CR needs more time for intensive testing and giving their full report. We have also reviewed the new Audi E-Tron, check our video review here.
