The American automaker Chevrolet introduced the 2019 Silverado 1500 in a private gathering yesterday in Abu Dhabi. The all-new full-size truck is lighter, stronger and more capable than ever.

The automaker offers the 2019 Silverado 1500 in six variants to cater to the needs of different customers. There are five engine/ transmission options including a new 5.3L and a 6.2L V-8s with industry-first Dynamic Fuel Management system. The latter is mated to a new Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission. The start/stop tech helps the truck to get better fuel efficiency.

The truck comes with best-in-class cargo volume in every bed length and has a 178mm wider bed floor in the short-box model. It is 41 mm longer than the previous model and is up to 204 kg lighter. Other salient features include a roll-formed, high-strength steel bed floor, 12 fixed tie-downs with double strength than previous, nine moveable tie points for extra cargo, a class-exclusive power up/down tailgate and swing panels made of aluminum.

The safety is ensured through a robust safety cage made of seven different grades of steel, 6 air bags (in Crew Cab Configuration), and rear vision camera. The regular Active Safety features on LT trims and above comprise of Blind Spot Indicator, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front, and Rear park assist. The optional facilities encompass Forward Collision Alert, Pedestrian Detection, Forward Automatic Low Speed Braking, and Automatic High Speed Braking.

The standard connectivity and technology facilities include Chevrolet Infotainment 3.0 on all trims, 8-inch screen on LT trim and above, Apple CarPlay, and Siri EyesFree. The wireless phone charging is optional.
