Dubai Police has announced to take eight more services online from April 1, which include online payment of traffic fines and the request for installments. The announcement was made last Sunday in a meeting at the Traffic Department in Dubai Police by Brigadier Shaikh Mohammad Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of Total Quality Management at Dubai Police.
He told the media that these online services would add to the list of 13 other facilities that were introduced last year. These came as a relief for motorists, and the authorities noted 2 million transactions in 2018.
“Consumers will have to use online channels including the Dubai Police smart app or website to avail these services. The services will no longer be offered in our customer service desks at police stations or in the traffic department. The move is part of the orders by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to reduce the number of customers visiting government centers by 80 percent,” Brigadier Al Mulla stated.
Motorists now can pay traffic fines, request for traffic accident reports (In case nobody is harmed), get a copy of lost traffic accident reports, make traffic fine installments through credit cards, request traffic clearance certificates, notify traffic accidents caused by unidentified people, ask a list of traffic fines and see the traffic situation.
“These services will be online only and people should avail them by using our smart channels. By April 1, we want zero customers in our centers where these services are concerned,” Brigadier Al Mulla added.
The next four services to go online in the next two months encompass appeals for smart confiscation of vehicles, fee payment for confiscated vehicles, installment of traffic penalties through checks and release of confiscated vehicles.
