Tesla has unveiled its 5th all-electric model a few days back featuring top drive range, excellent performance, and cutting-edge technology. The all-electric Tesla Model Y will be available in four versions: Standard Range, Long Range AWD, Long Range RWD and Performance with prices starting at $39,000.
The mid-size SUV can carry seven passengers easily as well as offer plenty of space (1.9 cu m) for things in the back. The all-wheel-drive models have two efficient motors to deliver quick acceleration. The utility vehicle can achieve 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and is capable to run on mud, snow, rain and offroad. The Standard Range model offers 390 km while the Long Range RWD may deliver 482 km (WLTP est.) drive range on a single charge.
As customary with Model 3, the Tesla Model Y also runs without a key. It connects with a smartphone for an unspoiled entry and exit. At the center, we see a single 15-inch touchscreen interface that controls all the functions of the vehicle. The Tesla Mobile app allows remote unlock, Summon, remote pre-conditioning, location tracking, Speed Limit Mode, and so many other functions. The safety is ensured through the low center of gravity, firm body construction and big crumple zones.
Expect the Model Y Performance, Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive, and Long Range All-Wheel Drive models by the end of next year in all of North America, regions of Europe and China. The UAE customers will be able to configure their Model Y in the second quarter of this year. For the UAE and other parts of the world, the deliveries are expected at the start of 2021. Note that the Standard Version will not be available until 2021, so interested buyers can only purchase high-end versions.
Tesla did not reveal pricing details yet. Stay tuned for more updates on this all-electric SUV.
