The Yas Marina Circuit erupted in delight as the Spaniard Kepa Carmona capped off his victorious season in style. In spite of a shaky start to the season 5 of TRD 86 Cup, Carmona’s total points of 248, elevated him to the top, making him the champion.

Second, in the chasing pack, was Ahmed Al Moosa while last year’s winner Saif Ali Ameri was a further 40 points behind in the race. Carmona was crowned champion on Friday evening.

Carmona might have run away with all the accolades but Reema Al Juffali, the first TRD female driver, finished fifth on the day and fourth in general in the rankings. Her constantly robust performances across the season prove she has a bright future ahead of her. Her performances have landed her a position in the front seat for Double R Racing in the UK Formula 4 championship in the later part of 2019.

Additionally, Marwan Al Rahmani earned 52 points in two races, which helped him secure third position overall with a total of 226 points. The pride of U.A.E, Abdulrahman Al Hosani finished sixth in the TRD 86 Cup after accumulating 86 points. The rest of the pecking order is as follows: – Franco Calzolari (72 points), Hamad Al Mazrouie (46 points), Alqassim Hamidaddin (20 points), Mohamed Al Qubaisi (20 points), and Matteo Bigogno (10 points).
